CHALLENGE:
A global supply chain intelligence company and price reporting agency (PRA) focused on the worldwide freight market engaged Connamara in a small project in their first year in business. The company wanted to develop an index publisher to provide their proprietary data into a white-labeled third-party software platform.
As their company evolved, they soon needed more control over prioritizing software feature development and their client’s user experience with their data. Rather than rely on third-party, white-label software, Connamara was invited to help them take complete control of the UI/UX design and to build a custom desktop and mobile solution.
Internally, this project was their highest corporate objective and a significant undertaking. Trust in Connamara’s deliverability was so high that the company set a launch date – just six months in the future – at an unveiling event with thousands of in-person and live-stream attendees present.
SOLUTION:
The stakes were high, so Connamara immediately dispatched a team to the client’s HQ. Working directly with the founder and CEO, head of product, quants, and analysts, Connamara gathered requirements for the first release.
In development, we applied Connamara Agile methodology principles which center the customer to give final say on feature design and prioritization. Our engineers integrated UI/UX design principles into the process by leading iterations with high-fidelity wireframes and designs.
RESULT:
The industry event was a hit; Connamara successfully launched the highly effective and innovative platform on time. One team member recalled, “We had over 1,100 people in attendance. [The product] looked amazing on the main stage screens. Tons of positive feedback on the system itself. Really – ZERO software issues – Murphy’s Law was absent!”
In subsequent years, Connamara has provided this client with continued ongoing feature development to their product, including delivering several major follow-up releases at successive events.
