CHALLENGE:
When one of the largest consumer banks in the Midwest wanted to expand the size and reach of their Forex dealing desk, a former independent trader who had just joined the bank recommended Connamara.
The bank wanted to build a custom risk management platform and integrate it with a retail order management system. Aware of Connamara’s deep domain knowledge of trading and our commitment to compliance and information security, the bank hired our team to develop a solution.
The biggest challenge was ensuring this technology could manage the risk of an expanded team.
SOLUTION:
Working with the client’s stakeholders, Connamara business analysts gathered functional and nonfunctional requirements and then created User Stories describing the desired solution behaviors. Working from the User Stories, the Connamara development team created integration and unit tests covering the User Stories.
Utilizing coding languages like Ruby, Mongo Db, and TestRunner, we seamlessly integrated and handed off the project to the bank’s in-house team.
RESULT:
By augmenting the functionality of the existing OMS to our clients and the specific functionality for their use case, the bank increased their Forex trading desk from one to four traders – increasing productivity and profitability.
